The Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade jointly hosted their annual recruitment camp at the church premises from March 15 to 18.

Organized solely by the Seniors, the theme for this year was “Leadership”.

The programme of the 4D/3N was structured to include activities relating to communication and presentation skills, teamwork, tent pitching and cooking.

In her welcoming message, the Chaplain of 4th Miri Girls’ Brigade Rev. Lisa Ting reminded the nineteen campers what leadership was about.

“God calls all of us including the youths to lead,” said Rev. Ting. “God gave people authority over the whole earth. And He never commands us to do anything without enabling us to do it.”

“We’re glad to have memorable and enjoyable time with the new Juniors from SJK (C) Chung Pujut. It’s a new and enriching experience for them and we hope more will join us in our next camp,” commented L/Cpl. Sim Soon Sin, the Camp Commander.

Acting in a supervisory role, BB Helper Chia Soh Pei, was present throughout the duration of the camp. Also present at frequent intervals and camping overnight was BB Captain Roseline Lee. The GB officers also took turns to drop by the camp at different times.

No detail is too small for 4th Miri – one camper is a vegetarian hence her meal was specially prepared.
