10 Saved At Evangelistic Night Admin May 26, 2011 Community outreach, Membership and Evangelism Story by James TC Wong May 20, Senadin – An evangelistic night conducted in Chinese was organized by SMCGC as part of its marketplace outreach programme for the first half of this year. The theme for the event was “Choice”. Using the maze as a metaphor to illustrate the many challenges that one faces in life, it was hoped that the talk would convince the pre-Christian guests to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour. Pastor-in-charge Tiong Huong Ong explained how SMCGC had diligently planned and prepared for the evangelistic night. “Since the beginning of this month our members took turns to fast and pray for this event. It is God’s purpose that He wants no one to perish but saved.” The invited speaker for the evening was Rev. Wong Sing Ming. “There are many things in life that are beyond our control,” said the Pastor-in-charge of Mei Ann MC to the attendees who were mostly Curtin University undergraduates. “But we have a choice about our eternal life because God has sent His Son to save us.” Rev. Wong continued to share about God’s love and the salvation that all people deserved. After the talk, there was an informal Q & A session. There was also an invitation extended to the guests to accept Christ into their lives. Out of the 103 people present, 10 readily responded. Some of them have expressed their willingness to join the TOP 1, TOP 2, and Disciple 1 to know more about Christ. “Do keep us in your prayers as we follow-up with our new believers,” said Pastor Tiong who was obviously pleased with the event. “All glory to God,” he praised.
