Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, LORD. – Psalm 89:15 (NIV) Story & pics by James TC Wong June 13 – Our church celebrated Pastor’s Appreciation Sunday yesterday when members from the congregation led in the worship service giving our pastors Rev. Lisa Ting and Tiong Huong Ong a much needed break from the pulpit. In sharing his message “The Old Has Gone, the New Has Come”, Paul Wong spoke on the tenets of man’s sinful nature and the struggles to resist daily temptations. The Associate Lay Leader also gave anecdotal incidents of facing temptations in his line of work in the secular world. He encouraged the congregation to embrace 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV 1984) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” Amy Shih in her appreciation message praised Rev. Lisa and Pastor Tiong for their dedication and hard work in GMC and SMCGC respectively. The PPRC Chairperson also thanked God for sending the two young shepherds who cared deeply for their flocks. “In her first posting as pastor-in-charge, Rev. Lisa acknowledges and appreciates the love and support from the congregation and church leaders have given her,” she added.
