Ps. Yong Ling Ling emphasizing on a point

Miri – To impact a positive learning experience for the students of SJK (C) Chung Hua Pujut, 4th Miri hosted a day camp at the school’s open hall on Aug 27.

A total of 79 of the school-based Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade participated in the theme-filled day of interesting activities from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Besides the basic drills training conducted by the Seniors, the Boys and Girls also took part in singing, hidden objects picture hunts, teambuilding and puzzle games.

One of the highlights of the camp was a talk by Pastor Yong Ling Ling of the Miri Gospel Church. Pastor Yong who is also trained in counseling, shared with the Boys and Girls on focus, concentration and persistency.

“Through this camp we also hope to impart soft skills interaction; that is to build up rapport not only among the Girls and Boys but also among fellow officers and helpers,” said Roseline Lee, the Boys’ Brigade Captain of 4th Miri. In the normal course of weekly meetings held in the school, the Boys and Girls gather in separate classrooms.

At the end of the camp each participant received an attendance certificate from Madam Chiew Hua King, who is in-charge of the school’s core curriculum activities.
